My name is Cheryl and this Midwest USA blog is my home away from home. I am blessed to cook healthy, super tasty recipes; plus, write and take pictures of it all and share them with all of you gorgeous people.

Then and Now

My journey started when I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 2003, and over the course of 5 years was placed on a handful of pills, including very high doses of Prednisone.

The weight just piled on.

I hit 140 pounds, and was miserable from the prescription drug side effects, carrying around all the extra pounds, and the plain old disease itself.

I discovered an anti-inflammation diet and it transformed my health, and saved my life.

I started eating the right combination of whole, clean foods, nothing processed at all...ever.

And, I lost all the weight quickly.

I realized at that point that the body operates very well on those types of foods, and I became passionate about sharing my discovery.

I began creating healthy, simple, budget friendly recipes that were good for me but also tasted delicious.

I naturally lost 32 pounds, without any struggle.

My body WANTED to feel good and bounced back quickly, giving me limitless energy, a strong positive attitude, and all of my brain fog lifted.

It felt like a miracle to me, and is the biggest blessing I've ever received.

I want to pay it forward, so I created FOODFIT, a healthy body reset program.

I spent five years running my fashion boutique in beautiful Lake Country Minnesota at night and on weekends, and working as a blogger and inventory manager by day.

I truly loved all my jobs, but ultimately had to go with my passion. Feeling FOODFIT!

And I couldn't be more excited to be living this crazy dream.

My favorite things in life are my husband, my fur babies, having a positive attitude (only you can choose how you are going to feel), laughter, 100% lentil pasta, white sand beaches, and vegan n'oatmeal cookies. YUM!
